And to those expressing interest in reviving this long time Cooperstown tradition.

The last Cooperstown Easter event for kids was in 2015 and several area residents and businesses have asked if it could be revived.  The good news is we listened and it will happen thanks to the combined efforts of the Cooperstown Lions Club and the Tunnicliff Inn Manager Tom Canis, who have been long time major sponsors.  Volunteers have also been recruited to make this happen.  It will be Saturday, April 15, noon- 1 PM in Pioneer Park at the corner of Main and Pioneer Streets.

We realize this is rather late, but nonetheless, it’s happening.  It will kick off with a welcome by Jeff Katz, Mayor of Cooperstown, as well as general announcements, including all those donating to make the event possible.  There will be four components for child participation including an Easter Egg Search and face painting in the Park and in the Tunnicliff snacks and beverages and you can take your own photo with the Easter Bunny.  All four activities will be conducted simultaneously.  If inclement weather, the event will be in the Tunnicliff Inn with some adjustments.

This, like any event, takes financial resources.  We’re asking individual friends and businesses, like you, to help support this fun event by donating a minimum of $10.00.  Cash or checks payable to the Cooperstown Lions Club.  Please donate by April 7 so we may recognize you the day of the event and post this in the park. Any proceeds will be placed in a designated account to next year’s event.

If you have any questions, please contact Rich McCaffery at richcooperstown@gmail.com or 607-547-5256.

We thank you in advance for any donation.
